Good morning Crafter's Companion friends, it's Khristen hanging out with you today. I hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend, I know I am! We had a big yard sale on Saturday and made a little extra cash (which is good...I just got the school picture order forms last Friday)! Stick through this post until the end, I have a surprise just for you that I know you will love :)
One thing I was able to do was sit down with the soon to be released Popcorn the Bear DVD (September 8th launch date to be exact), jam packed with everything you need to make hundreds of projects. I hadn't owned any Popcorn stamps before this, and those of you that own them are probably not surprised to find out I'm *in love.* He is just the cutest little bear, and after perusing all of the images available to print out, I found the perfect one.
After printing him out, I picked out a coordinating patterned paper also on the DVD. It was great, I chose the pattern I wanted and then chose the color I wanted it to be, matching it perfectly with the colors in the image. How cool is that?
I adhered the patterned paper to the card base, adding a ribbon to split the two. This is my favorite technique for cards split down the middle with two different papers, something about the two papers by themselves bothers me. A pretty doily seemed perfect to sit behind Popcorn, who I cut out and used Glossy Accents on the balloons to give them the shine a balloon would have. A random rub on was used as the sentiment, as I was having trouble with the communication between my laptop and printer...it was making the words shadowed, and always has for some reason...next time I'll have to use my desktop for the job. There were so many wonderful verses to choose from. You could choose your theme (birthday, thanks, etc.) and then choose from an array of poems or sayings just right to portray how you feel better than you can say it yourself :) I plan on printing out one of them to add to this card when I decide upon its recipient!
Under the sentiment I gathered some ribbon, stuck some pins in it, and added some sparkle. A little doodling, and this card is done! This came together quickly, the most time was spent waiting for the Glossy Accents to dry. Crafter's Companion brings the cuteness of Popcorn and the ease of a digi DVD, and it all adds up to cards that come together in a snap AND coordinate perfectly. Get your own Popcorn the Bear DVD along with some adorable stamp sets (which you will see showcased here on the blog soon, I just like teasing you :) at the Crafter's Companion online store beginning September 8th.
And...here's a little secret (ok, it's no secret, it's right up on the Crafter's Companion site, I just don't want you all to miss it!)...right now, through September 6th, receive 20% off your entire order, no coupon code necessary!! Yeah, I thought you'd like that. :)
Have a great week, watch for more sneaks of Popcorn adorableness here on the blog!
