Hi Everyone! Carolyn here. Today I am going to show you a simple, fun and cute project, a flip book!I used the Stamp It stamps that will be available shortly at the Crafter's Companion website.
The butterfly stamp I used is only one of many super pretty stamps in this line. I stamped the image using Memento Ink and then distressed it. I used my awesome Spectrum Noir markers to fill in the delicate wings for just a little pop of color. I next created a template for my book and went to work. Here is how the project is set up.
This is image is not to size but shows the dimenstions you will need. Start with the sheet of your favorite paper and cut it to 5 x 12 inches. Score on with The Ultimate Tool at 5 and 5.5 inches and then again at 10 and 10.5 inches. When you score keep in mind the side of the paper you want on the outside! This is a simple mistake but one that can be avoided with a little planning, especially if you cut the base out in a single color then decide to adhere more paper to the outside. When you are done with the cutting and scoring it is now time to punch holes for the thread that will hold your paper. You can punch holes on the top flap or the center score lin, I did mind at the top so the book would have a pretty bow on top.
To cut the inside paper, you want to cut your papers at 5 inches wide by 10 1/4 long. Score in the middle and fold. Then run your cohice of ribbon or thread thru the holes in the top, under the fold of the paper then back up thru the top. Tie in a bow and you are done. You can add a velcro closure to keep the book closed!
This is a fun and easy project that you can make in no time. Stop back each day for more inspiration from the design team!
