Flowers For A Friend

I colored up a a quick card using one of the newest Mulberry Wood stamp sets called Friend.  The puppy is so cute!  I stamped my image on Ultra Smooth White card stock.  Here is a look at the Spectrum Noir markers I used on this card:

Puppy: EB5, GB10, GB8
Pinks: PL1, BP2, BP6
Yellow: CT3, CT5, GB5, OR1
Greens: CG1, CG2, DG2
Blues: TB2, TB4
Turquoises: BT1, BT2, BT4, BT2
Ground: EB1, EB2, BG1

Rather than color the entire sky behind the puppy, I used the pointillism technique.  To do that, I first used the chisel nib of my BT1 marker to outline directly next to the puppy. Then I used the bullet nib of BT2 to add polka dots in random spots.  Next, using BT4, I repeated the polka dots, but I made fewer of them.  I finished up with BT5, and did the least amount of polka dots just to add a bit of visual interest.

This is a great way to conserve ink, and create a quick background!

And because my card has a flower, it works perfectly for this month's challenge over on the Spectrum Noir blog.  Have you played along yet?
