Later today, the beautiful new Vintage Floral collection is being released. Kendra put together this lovely card using one of the rubber stamp sets in the collection called Vintage Floral Phrases along with one of the floral digi-stamp on the Papercrafting CD-ROM in the collection. She also has a tutorial to share showing how she colored the flowers.
Once the image is sized and printed, she began coloring the leaves for the flower with CG1 and added it to the center of the leaf. Then she added CG2 working toward the outer edge and then finally added CG3 on the edges. Each time she added a new color, she went back and added the previous lighter color so they would blend. Make sure to do one leaf at a time so the ink stays wet because it will blend much easier.
Once the leaves were finished with the Spectrum Noir Markers, she added some highlights with the Blendable Colored Pencils (044, 045, 046, 047).
For the flower, she started with the darkest orange (027) and added that to the edges of each flower petal. Then worked from the outside town the center using colors darkest to light (027, 024, 022, 020). She added some light orange with the OR1 brush tip of the marker for a bit more color in the center.
Kendra finished the center of the flower with tones of red and gold (096, 017). The finished unblended flower is below.
She blended the colors by simply dipping the tip of the Paper Stump into the Spectrum Noir Blending Solution and going over the penciled image in a circular motion. Below is how it turned out ~ you can really see the difference between the before (above) and after blending.
She resized the digi-stamp flower and printed them two times and then cut all of them out to add to the card.
Here they are on the card. She also used her OR3 Spectrum Noir marker to color the gems and ribbon to match the card.
Check out the website a bit later to check out all the great new products in this collection!
