Tutorial: Step-By-Step Cupcake Box

There are some with the fantastic new Cupcake Box Templates in the store now & you will just love them. These templates make fabulous packages to present cupcakes or other gifts.

This project by Trena features the Cupcake Templates Collection - Twin Cupcake Presentation Box

It is designed for two regular-sized cup cakes to fit nicely in the tray.

Or you can use this box for one giant cupcake.

Here's how she made it:

Using the easy directions that come with the template, she traced the image on the Construction cardstock - 12" x 16" and secured the template with EZRelease Tape before tracking it.

She then used The Ultimate Crafter's Companion Tool to score the dashed lines, fold them in both directions and use the Scoring and Embossing Tool that comes with the tool to burnish down the folds for a nice crisp edge.

To create special design paper, she used the Embossalicious Cakes Galore embossing folder on Rose Pearl Shimmering Cardstock and a layer of black pearl.  Use a strong adhesive to secure the sides of the box.

For the window, she used Die'sire Create-A-Card Dies - Ornate Lattice on Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock, layered the rose over black and added a layer of the two colors to the inside lid.

Next, Trena traced the inner cup cake tray onto a piece of the  Construction cardstock and scored the dashed fold lines and burnished them, as above. For the cupcake holder, she used the template and cupcake topper insert die.

The flower is cut from Shimmering Cardstock pink pearl using the Flower Topper with a little shading to the petals with Spectrum Noir Blendable Colored Pencils 034.
