Tutorial: Watercolored Tree

See how Trena created this little scene with some of her favorite Crafter's Companion supplies and check out her fabulous tutorial to show you how she created it!

Crafter's Companion US supplies:

Step 1: Use the Die'sire Classiques Spring/Summer Metal Dies ( Four Seasons) to de-boss into a piece of A2 size Crafter's Companion Watercolor Cardstock.

Step 2: On the back side of the card, rub white crayon over the raised outlines, creating a wax resist for watercoloring.

Scribble Spectrum Aqua markers Terracotta and Chocolate onto a palette. Pick up the color with a water brush, allowing the colors to dry.

Step 3: Add leavesto the tree with Spectrum Aqua Markers Bud Green, Evergreen, and Navy.

While they are still wet, add more browns to the trunk allowing the colors to blend and create an artsy look.

Add a lot of water to Navy and paint in the sky.

Step 4: Use same colors in the ground area and blend them together with a wet brush.

Create random blades of grass with the tips of all three colors then blur them with the water brush.

After it dries, use thin tip of Bud Green to add several individual blades, blending only at the base.

Step 4b: Stamp the sentiment from Sheena Douglass' True Colors stamp set with an India Ink pad

TIP: Use a paper towel to clean your brush in between colors and wipe off excess water.

Continue to add water and color until you are happy with it.

Step 5: Edge the water colored layer with the Black Spectrum Aqua marker. Adhere it to your Bleack Pearl Shimmering Cardstock card base .
