Tutorial: Seasonal Tissue Box Cover

Today we have a fun tutorial to share with you that is not only perfect to display during the Christmas  season, but could be kept out all winter long!  Jodi created this amazing tissue box cover and below she shares the step by step instructions on how she made it!

Let's get started!

Step 1: Start with a piece of Crafter's Companion Kraft cardstock that measures 5.75" x 8.5". Using the Big Score scoring board, score the 8.5" side at 0.5". Turn cardstock 90 degrees and score the 5.75" side at 2.5"

Step 2: Trim out the corner section and discard.

Step 3: Distress the panel using Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a sponge dauber.

Step 4: Cut, score, trim and distress three (3) more panels. The center of each panel and the box bottom will be covered, so it is not necessary to completely cover those areas.

Step 5: Cut four pieces of blue textured cardstock to a size of 5" x 5.75". Also, cut four pieces of kraft cardstock to a size of 3.5" x 3.5"

Step 6: Position one piece of brown cardstock at an angle centered and near the bottom edge of one piece of blue cardstock. Place both pieces together into the Nordic Christmas Reindeer Parade embossing folder.

Step 7: Run the folder through your embossing machine.

Step 8: Repeat the process with the remaining pieces so there is one set for each side of the box.

Step 9: Using a sanding block, lightly sand the embossed design on each blue panel to highlight the embossed areas. Ink edges if desired.

Step 10: Using a sponge dauber and Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink, distress each brown panel to enhance the embossed design. Ink edges if desired.

Step 11: Using Collall glue, adhere the brown panel back into position on the blue panel, then adhere a blue panel onto each of the base panels.

Step 12: Using Collall glue, adhere the side panels together by gluing each panel to the glue flap of the adjacent panel. Cut a piece of kraft carstock  5" x 5", distress with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and adhere to outside of box bottom.

Step 13: For the box lid base, cut a piece of Crafter's Companion kraft cardstock 6.375" x 6.375". Using the Big Score, score 0.5" on all four sides, snip one side of each 0.5" corner score for lid folding and construction. Position and cut out the 3" Essentials circle die from center of panel. Distress box lid with Vintage Photo distress ink.

Step 14: Cut a piece of blue textured cardstock 5" x 5". Position and cut out the 3.5" Essentials circle die from center of panel. Ink edges if desired.

Step 15: Adhere blue panel to top of box lid.

Step 16: Diecut four (4) Die'sire Elegant Reindeer diecuts from brown cardstock, ink with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Adhere one (1) reindeer diecut to the center of each side panel using foam adhesive.
