Tutorial: Valentine's Gift Box

Today we have a great tutorial to share with you that's not only perfect for Valentine's Day, but would make a great birthday gift too!

Kerin created a beautiful card to go with her box too; below she shares the step by step instructions on how she made this cute gift box.

Crafter's Companion Supplies:

Other Supplies:  White Ribbon, Scissors

Box Base

Step 1: Place a piece of 9 3/4" x 9-3/4" pink gingham cardstock face down on The Ultimate Tool - Box Base scoring section and score all sides on the bottom most score line (the lines have been drawn on the example for better visual):

Step 2: Cut on four score lines and remove 1" from each square adjacent to the score lines as shown.

Step 3: Apply red liner tape to edges of shortened boxes:

Step 4: Assemble box base.

Box Lid

Step 1: With a 2-5/8" square of cardstock adhered to the underside of the Elegance Stamping Frame Die, place it on The Ultimate Tool and score along all four edges of the cardstock

TIP: Adhering the square of cardstock to the underside of the die helps ensure even score lines even though the outside edge of the die is not even

Step 2: Cut on the score lines and cut extra overlapping die cut edges off as shown.

Step 3: Add red liner tape.

Step 4: Assemble lid and cover box.

Step 5: Embellish box with die cut and ribbon.

Complete project by adding candy and creating coordinating card. This card was colored with Spectrum Noir markers: Bunny: BG1, BG2, BG4, BG6, BG8 Flower/Ears: PP1, PP2, PP5 Stem/Leaves: DG1, DG2, DG3 Shadow: IG1
