Tutorial: Easter Table Decoration

Create a beautiful table decoration with our tutorial for you from Jodi today.

Crafter's Companion Supplies:

Other Supplies: Five to six coordinating pattern papers, Buttons, Glue gun, Acrylic paint , Oval wood piece

Step 1: Stamp images on Ultra Smooth Premium Cardstock – Color using Spectrum Noir Markers, then cut in desired shape. Using one of the coordinating papers, create mats for the images. Set aside.

Step 2: Trim at least 12 (more if desired) strips of 12” patterned papers. Strips should be varying widths, from ½” up to 2” or so. No exact measurements are needed, just have a variety.

Step 3: Using your Ultimate Tool Scoreboard “boxer”, score at ¼” intervals, across the entire length of each strip of paper.

Step 4: Fold the entire length of each strip, back and forth creating a fan-type fold.

Step 5: Using a tape runner, join ends of each strip overlapping ends to create a circle. Stand on one edge, and pushing the upper edge down towards the middle to create the rosette. This may take a little manipulation, but it will come together in the center.

Step 6: Using a hot glue gun, place a dollop of glue directly in the center of the rosette, and then place a button on top to hide the glue. You will need to hold the outside edges of the rosette towards the center to keep it in shape for a minute while the hot glue cools to set. Continue in this manner creating all of the rosettes.

Step 7: Using a matching acrylic paint color, paint the wooden surface a desired color.

Step 8: Using the glue gun to attach, glue the larger rosettes to the wooden surface first, then layering the remaining smaller ones to create a pleasing arrangement. Finally, finish off with your stamped and colored images on top.
