Tutorial: St Patrick's Day Gift Box
We have a fabulous tutorial from Annie to make this gorgeous box for you! Annie takes you though it step by step so you can make this easily. Have fun!
Crafter's Companion US Supplies:
Other Supplies: Black Ink, Printed Grosgrain Ribbon, Adhesive Pearls
To make your box:
Step 1: Place the Ulti-Boxes Embossing Board into the slots on the Ultimate Tool for stability. Trace the inner two ovals of the medium-sized set onto Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock (indicated by the white arrows). Repeat to trace a second set.
Step 2: Trace the outer two ovals of the medium-sized set onto green plaid paper from the Sweet Treats Card Pack (indicated by white arrows). Repeat to trace a second set.
Step 3: Cut along the outer scored line of each shape to yield two green ovals and two slightly smaller white ovals. Cut two pieces of green plaid paper from the Sweet Treats Card Pack to 16” by 2” and 16“ by 1”.
Step 4: Form a ring from each long section of paper. Overlap the ends of the 2” wide piece by 5/8” and glue into place with liquid adhesive. Repeat with the 1” wide piece, this time overlapping the ends by only 3/8” (this difference will allow the lid of the box to slip over the base).
Step 5: Snip all the way around the edge of the two white ovals to form tabs. For one, cut just up to the inner embossed line and for the other, cut just past the inner embossed line (to form slightly longer tabs). Fold the tabs upward as shown.
Step 6: Add liquid glue to the tabs and slip the oval into the rings until it lies flush with the edge. Use the oval with longer cut tabs with the 2” wide ring and the oval with the shorter cut tabs with the 1” wide ring.
Step 7: Adhere the green ovals to your box base and lid. Be sure to glue the panels so that the pattern faces up on both pieces.
Step 8: Place the finished box lid over the finished box base.
Step 9: Cut and emboss eight clovers using the Bebunni Four Leaf Clover die. Stamp the sentiment from the Bebunni “Lucky You” stamp set onto Crafter’s Companion Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock and cut it out with the small die from the Chantilly Lace Stamping Frame set.
Step 10: Embellish your gift box lid with the die-cut clovers and sentiment. Add a pearl border and printed ribbon if desired.
Step 11: Fill your box with a small gift or treats.
These boxes would be awesome for other occasions too! Mother's Day, Easter, Christmas just to name a few... and of course birthdays!
