Butterfly Lullaby Purse Tutorial

Want to make a wonderful handmade purse using gorgeous patterned paper from our Butterfly Lullaby collection? Lori will show you how in this tutorial! These little purses are perfect for teacher gifts, thoughtful presents for your friends, or to package a small set of notecards.

You could change out the paper you used to make this work for more than just springtime occasions like Mother's Day or Easter... add some bold colors for summer, use leaves in the fall, or use festive elements to make wonderful hostess gifts for the holidays!

Crafter's Companion US supplies:

Other supplies:
ribbon | rhinestones | glitter | glue pen | hole puncher

Directions:

Step 1: Emboss and cut out the purse using a piece of paper from the 12” x 12” Paper Pad. Make sure to cut the bottom side tabs, as indicated in picture.

Step 2: Fold and burnish score lines.

Step 3: Add glitter to the front flap.

Step 4: Assemble the purse using glue. Use ribbon to create a handle and bow. If desired, punch holes through both the flap and purse, then thread ribbon through and tie to secure flap.

Step 5: Emboss and cut out the tag using a piece of paper from 6” x 6” Paper Pad. Trim a flower from one of the purse scraps, adding glitter around edges. Adhere to tag with dimensional foam tape.

Step 6: Embellish tag with a rhinestone in center of flower, and then tie to handle with string. Cut a thin strip of matching paper and adhere to front of purse.
